At Kyra McDaid Interior Design, I pride myself on a personal approach to designing interiors. The core values of trust, professionalism and efficiency are reflected in everything I do. Thorough understanding of your project needs is imperative to my design process.
The process is broken down into:
1, Initial Consultation
The initial consultation enables me to understand the scope, design and aesthetic goals of your project. I will follow this up with a project and fee proposal detailing your requirements and my recommendations, along with an outline of costs as required. Upon agreeing the terms of appointment I will commence with the project.
2, Site Survey
If the project requires drawings, assuming CAD plans are not readily available, I will conduct a measured site survey. I will create 2D scaled drawings of your interior’s existing plans and elevations, which will then be used to assist the design concept.
I will begin implementing the design brief in the form of concept designs which will comprise of drawings, samples and mood boards for all furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E).
4, Design Presentation
I will carry out a full presentation explaining the design in detail. There will be the chance to discuss and develop areas within the design. After which any alterations can be made until a final design is approved by the client.
Clients who require interior design only without my project management services, will be given the full design plan enabling them to source required items and services independently.
5, Project Management
Once a design has been approved, clients who require me to project manage will receive a quotation for the design and required items and services.
After agreeing the quotation, I will arrange the making and fitting of items such as curtains, upholstery, lighting and furniture with subcontractors. I will organise all work schedules, manage subcontractors and oversee the fittings and fixtures are of the highest quality. I will ensure excellent communication is kept between all parties involved, including myself, the client and subcontractors. I will provide progress reports and attend regular face to face meetings to make sure every aspect of the project is in accordance with the budget, timescale and satisfaction of the client.
